Description
Alba Ventura. Born in Barcelona, Alba Ventura made her solo debut at the age of thirteen with the Cadaqués Orchestra and Sir N. Marriner in San Sebastian and at the National Auditorium of Music in Madrid. Since then, her career as a soloist has continued to grow with invitations from venues such as Wigmore Hall, Barbican and St. Martin in the Fields, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Musikverein, Cité de la Musique in Paris and Moscow’s Svetlanovsky Hall among others, having also performed in the main Spanish halls.
Her international activity has also led her to perform in the United States, Colombia, Argentina, New Zealand, and China. She has been conducted by personalities such as Antonini, Harth-Bedoya, Hogwood, Mas, Pons, Oue, Ros Marbà and Vásary, and has collaborated with important orchestras such as the Philharmonia and Hallé, London Mozart Players, Hungarian National Philharmonic, Czech National Symphony Orchestra and the main Spanish orchestras.
In addition, Alba Ventura is a devoted chamber musician and has collaborated, among others, with the Brodsky, Takacs, and Casals quartets; violinists Boris Belkin, Gordan Nikolic, Leticia Moreno, Tai Murray, and Lina Tur Bonet; violinist Isabel Villanueva, and cellists David Cohen and Astrig Sironossian. Among the distinctions she has received, it is worth highlighting the Queen Elizabeth Rosebowl, presented by the Prince of Wales, the success in the international auditions of the Young Concert Artist Trust (YCAT), her inclusion in the Rising Stars program promoted by ECHO (European Concert Halls Organization), the IMPULSA Award from the Prince of Girona Foundation, and the Albéniz Medal from the Isaac Albéniz Foundation.
Her previous album, Études, is a selection of twenty studies from Czerny to Rautavaara and was very well received by both the public and the critics. In 2019, Alba Ventura began recording the complete Mozart Piano Sonatas.
Alba Ventura is a professor at the Liceu Conservatory of Music.
