Description
Corrado Bolsi. He began his musical education at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome, and continued his violin training with P. Vernikov and chamber music with F. Rossi and P. Farulli, members of the Quartetto Italiano.
Due to his great interest in historical instrument performance (he currently plays a Guarneri from 1650), he traveled to Paris, where he joined the Ensemble Mosaique of C. Coin. Later, and following this line, he began a close collaboration with C. Hogwood, F. Biondi, and J. Savall, offering countless concerts throughout Europe and making numerous recordings.
Through this intense concert activity - whether as a soloist, chamber performer, concertmaster or conductor - he has cultivated a broad repertoire that ranges from early music to contemporary composers, and has performed at major institutions, concert halls, and festivals throughout Europe, such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysée, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Palais des Meaux Art in Brussels, the festivals of Salzburg and Aix-en-Provence, as well as the Bunka Kankan and Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Symphony Hall in Osaka, the Melba Hall in Melbourne and the Opera House in Sydney.
He has been conducted by R. Alessandrini, J. Cayers, H. Christophers, C. Hogwood, R. King, E. Martínez Izquierdo, J. Pons, H. Schellenberger, and G. Van Waas, among others, with orchestras such as the OBC, the symphonies of Madrid, Galicia, Granada, Flanders Opera, Belgian Radio and the Gran Teatre del Liceu. He is also the conductor of the Granollers Orchestra and maintains an intense chamber music activity as a member of the Kandinsky Trio and a teacher at various European centers. Since 2002, he has been the Head of the String Department at the Centre Superior de Música Conservatori del Liceu.
