JONATHAN CAMPS | Double bass course

Jonathan Camps. He studied at the Municipal Conservatory of Music in Barcelona. Awarded a scholarship from the Government of Catalonia, he continued his studies at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien (Austria) with Andrew Ackerman.

As a soloist, he has given recitals in Spain and other countries of the European Union as well as in Latin America. He inaugurated the International Double Bass Festival in Tribute to Gary Karr in Bogotá in 2009 with a recital. He has been invited to conventions and international festivals such as the International Bass2010 Convention in Berlin, ISB International San Francisco Convention, etc. He has performed as a soloist with Spanish and international orchestras, alongside distinguished artists and ensembles of both modern and ancient music, including Le Concert des Nations by Jordi Savall, among others. He premiered Salvador Brotons' Concerto for Double Bass and Wind Orchestra, as well as other works for double bass and piano by Catalan composers.

He is a member of the OBC (Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and National Orchestra of Catalonia) and has participated in masterclasses with Gary Karr, among others.
