Description

The admiration of specialized critics and the affection of the public reaffirm Jorge Nava as one of the greatest references in the Spanish piano scene, being one of the most awarded pianists of his generation after being awarded in more than twenty competitions, among which stand out the Maria Canals, the Iturbi Prize, the Jaén Prize, or the Portuguese Santa Cecilia.

Born in Santander, he studied music in cities such as La Paz, Barcelona, and London under the guidance of great musicians and pedagogues such as Irina Efanova, Stanislav Pochekin, and Dmitri Alexeev. He also received advice from pianists such as Boris Berman, Mikhail Voskresensky, Lang Lang, Michel Beroff, Joaquín Soriano, among others. His studies were supported by entities such as the Social Work of "la Caixa", the Botín Foundation, the Association of Interpreters and Performers of Spain, the Liceu Conservatory, and the Royal College of Music.

As a soloist, he has collaborated with the National Symphony Orchestra of Bolivia, the Orchestra of the Liceu Conservatory, the Orchestra and Choir of RTVE, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Madrid, the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, the Orchestra of Valencia, the City of Granada Orchestra, the Orchestra da Costa Atlántica, the Kaunas City Symphony, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Medellín.

His naturalness on stage has led him to offer recitals in venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, National Auditorium of Music, Manuel de Falla Auditorium, Palace of Festivals, Zaragoza Auditorium, Casa da Música, Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall, and in countries such as Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Lithuania, England, Italy, and Malta.

He has participated in prestigious cycles and festivals such as the Santander International Festival, Segovia Festival, Spanish Music Festival of Cádiz, Soriano Musical Autumn, Úbeda Festival, Medellín International Music Festival, Félix Mendelssohn Festival, Festival des Lumières, among others.

As a chamber musician, he is a founding member of the Trio Casablancas. He has shared the stage with musicians such as Alma Olite, Alexander Rudin, Mon-Puo Lee, Mariano García, Eros Jaca, Trio Bacarisse, Bretón Quartet, Cosmos Quartet. His discography includes albums published by Orpheus Classical and Columna Música exploring Russian music of the 20th century in Russian Portraits and French music of the same century in Parfums Sonores.

Currently, he combines his concert activity with teaching at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Aragon and at the Superior Conservatory of Music of the Liceu. His performances have been broadcasted by RNE, Catalunya Música, TVE, and TV3.
