Description

Laia Puig. She began her studies at the age of six under the tutelage of Marçal Cervera, Sergi Boadella, and Richard Talkowsky at the Conservatori de Cervera. She later studied at the universities of Graz, Basel, and Berlin with Rudolf Leopold, Reinhard Latzko, and Martin Löhr. In 2012, she completed a Master's degree in Cultural Management at the UOC.

She has performed as a soloist with the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, Orquestra de Cambra del Garraf, Camerata XXI, Orquesta Andrés Segovia, and Camerata Musica Wien, and has given recitals at festivals such as the Berliner Cellisten 2008 and throughout Catalonia. Laia Puig premiered the previously unheard work "Concerto Libero" by Xavier Montsalvatge at the Castell de Peralada Festival in the summer of 2012.

She has won numerous awards in competitions such as the Germans Claret, Concurs Nacional Ciutat de Xàtiva, Concurs Internacional de Llanes, and Primer Palau de Barcelona. She regularly collaborates with the Orquestra de Cadaqués, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, Orquestra del Gran Teatre del Liceu, BCN216, Konzerthaus Orchester Berlin, Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi, and Simfonieorchester Basel.

In the 2008/09 season, she was hired by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León to be the assistant soloist. Recordings of her recitals, broadcast by Catalonia Música, have been transmitted by the European Broadcasting Union.

Currently, she combines teaching at the Conservatori Professional del Liceu and the Conservatori de Cervera with performance. Previously, she worked as a teacher at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears. She is the principal cellist and artistic director of the Camerata432.
