RAQUEL CASTRO | Violin course

Raquel Castro. She enjoys a versatile career as a violinist and pedagogue. She regularly performs at numerous festivals including Classica Havana in Cuba, Ciao a Chengdu in China, Kefar Blum in Israel, Luosto in Finland, Cividale Chamber Music in Italy, Terra Màgica in Croatia, Sunnmore Chamber Music Festival in Norway, and in Spain at the Festival Internacional Ciutat Monumental de Càceres, Festival de Panticosa, Forum Musikae, Festival de Matadepera in Catalonia, Via Làctia, Aremore, and others.

In 2015, she participated in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Catalan Chamber Orchestra by performing Mozart's Sinfonia Concertant with violist Yuval Gotlibovich. She also premiered and recorded composer Ramon Paus' work, Elegía I, la deriva, with Yuval Gotlibovich and the Chamber Choir of Esmuc for Naxos.

Raquel Castro studied with Lev Chistiakov in Spain and Detlef Hahn at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She completed her studies at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in Bloomington, where she obtained a Master of Music degree with honors under the tutelage of Maurici Fuks, thanks to a Fulbright scholarship.

She worked as an Assistant Instructor for Indiana University and was invited to join Mimi Zweig's teaching team at the Summer String Academy. She also worked as a professor at the Jacobs School of Music, replacing Maestro Fuks. Since September 2004, she has been a professor at the Escola Superior de Catalunya.
